Lucas and Sam’s story began all the way back in Grade 3 at École Frère André when Lucas moved to London. It didn’t take long for their paths to cross, and by Grade 5, they found themselves in the same class. From tossing a football back and forth at recess to sharing laughs on the bus ride home, it felt like the beginning of something meant to last. In those simple moments, the foundation of their journey was quietly being built.

What started as a friendship soon blossomed into something deeper and more meaningful. They spent the beginning of high school riding bikes to each other’s houses before they could even drive, meeting with friends for movie nights, and making memories during long summer days. By Grade 10 (2013), when Lucas asked Sam to be his girlfriend, their bond had evolved from best friends to something even more beautiful: love.

As their relationship grew, they were able to share life’s big milestones together - cheering each other on at school sporting events, celebrating prom, and walking across the stage at graduation. Their love story was written with every step, every laugh, and every adventure.

After high school, Lucas and Sam both decided to pursue their post-secondary studies in Ottawa, and it was there that their connection only deepened. Even when Sam moved to Vancouver for school, the distance didn’t weaken their bond; instead, it made it stronger, proving that true love can stretch across miles and still hold tight.

In 2020, Lucas and Sam took the next big step and moved in together, supporting one another as they pursued their careers—Lucas in firefighting, and Sam in education. Their shared dreams and mutual respect made each day brighter.

Two years later, in 2022, they bought their first home in Rockland, and in 2023, their family grew by four paws with the addition of their sweet, furry golden retriever, Jax.

Now, as they prepare for the next chapter, Lucas and Sam are beyond excited to take this beautiful step forward, hand in hand, surrounded by the love and support of their closest friends and family. They can’t wait to celebrate this incredible moment with all of you in August 2026!
